Isabel Castro

Ayurvedic Practitioner, Yoga Instructor, & Yoga Health Coach

I’m a first-generation Costa Rican-American. While travelling in Central America and New Zealand exploring organic farms, Permaculture, and herbal medicine, I still felt sick and confused about my health - even though I was living a healthy life. I then found Ayurveda- a complete, holistic health science that helped me finally understand how to feel better in my body, and how to deal with symptoms I’d had since I was a child. Now as an Ayurvedic Practitioner and Educator, I teach all ages, demystifying health, and making it a daily practice for body, mind, and spirit.

Health is a charged topic, often wound up in societally oppressive systems and beliefs like racism, fat-phobia, misogyny, xenophobia, ableism, homophobia, transphobia, ageism, and colonialism. While these societal issues have to be worked on externally, they also have internalized forms that affect our well-being. One of my goals is to help you unwind these internalized forms of oppression as they come up along your health journey. Nature is naturally abundant, resilient, and magical. I’m here to remind you of that when you forget, and give you tools when you need them…all with a healthy dose of self-compassion.

With a B.A. in Liberal Studies - Elementary Education, and a lifetime in education and therapeutic programming for people of all ages, I love to make learning fun and practical. I also blend arts and creativity with ancient Ayurvedic wisdom, and modern habit science, for a joyful, simple approach to mind-body-spirit health…so you can truly feel like yourself and live more fully.
